What's Going On?

Attention 6th Graders: find out about what Egypt is like today. Now
that you know what it was like when it ruled the world, you can find
out the challenges now.

Find out what happened a year ago when the Arab Spring Revolution was
unfolding at Tahrir Square in Cairo from an eye witness.

Noha Radwan, UCD Comparative Literature professor will be talking with
Jon Li on What's Going On? Davis Community Television/Davis Media
Access on Wednesday, February 22nd, from 5 to 6 pm.

Noha Radwan will talk about her life growing up in Egypt, her family
there, her family now, her decision to come to UC Berkeley for her
Ph.D., her love of literature, and teaching at UC Davis. The second
half of the show will be about what the Arab Spring was about, the
victories so far, and the challenges ahead. We will relive the daily
drama of being in the middle of the revolution, the role of women, and
the role of the Muslim Brotherhood historically, during the
revolution, and since then in electoral politics. Immediate problems
with the economy as well as long term questions with Israel and Syria
will continue to cloud US relations with Egypt and Egypt's prospects
for the future.
