"Urinetown" is a satirical comedy set in a dystopian future, where a 20 year drought has caused a major water shortage making simple life necessities a form of expensive luxury. This leads to the banning of private toilets. Allowing for the corrupt, Urine Good Company (UGC) controls public amenities, the only way for people to legally pee. These laws force people to either pay a hefty fee to pay to pee or get sent to Urinetown, a mysterious place that no one has ever returned from.
