June 8 election cycle

Davis Media Access (DMA) is airing a variety of voter education programs related to the
June 8, 2010 election. DMA is the non-profit community media center that operates
DCTV Public Access Channel 15, DJUSD Educational Access Channel 17, and KDRTLP,
95.7 FM. Election programming will air on DCTV and online at dctv.davismedia.org.
“Meet the Candidates” will also air on KDRT and at kdrt.org.

“Community media helps connect people to place and time in a tangible way,” said
Autumn Labbé-Renault, DMAʼs executive director. “That localism is particularly important
during elections, because the larger media markets donʼt focus on smaller communities
like Davis. “

Coverage of local elections is core to DMAʼs mission of creating community through
media, and a partnership benefit we offer to our City and community,” she said.

A programming schedule is available at dctv.davismedia.org. Voter education programs
are added to the schedule as they are recorded and edited. Each will air repeatedly
through Monday, June 7. The program lineup includes:

“Meet the Candidates for Davis City Council.” The five candidates vying for two open
seats on the Council recorded unedited statements of up to five minutes. This airs as a
single program on DCTV as individual clips on dctv.davismedia.org. Recorded the week
of April 12 in the DMA studio.
