The 21st Annual City of Davis Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration

The celebration consists of the speech, presentations and music from vocalists and bands starting at 10:30 a.m. at the Varsity Theatre, 616 Second St. It is brought to the community by the city of Davis and the Davis Human Relations Commission.  The Rev. Tim Malone, the campus community outreach minister for UC Davis and director of the Broderick Christian Center in West Sacramento, was keynote speaker at the event.

This show will identify and promote the use of new technologies that facilitate and expand treatment and recovery services.  These new technologies include social media (social network and messaing systems - Facebook and Twitter), interactive text messaging platforms, and smartphones applications.  These technologies are enabling new models of behavioral health care both within and outside formal or traditional systems of care.
