Episode 1 of Artist's Connection features interviews and performances with Roger Trott of The Hey-Nows!, Kari King of Bonanza King and Richie Lawrence of Richie Lawrence and the Yolos.

Artist's Connection is a locally produced, monthly television series hosted by journalist and singer-songwriter, Kevin Fagan. The program features topic-driven interviews of artists with questions that go beyond persona and performance, revealing the reasons behind the choices that artists make, and giving viewers a glimpse through the eyes of the artist.

KDRT was thrilled to have Dirk Hamilton share his talent and stories with us.  Dirk is such a prototypical singer-songwriter-guitar player - someone ought to make a movie about him (and in fact, Dirk does appear front and center in the upcoming documentary "Folk" which examines how three artists at dramatically different stages in their careers work to reach an audience).  

The celebration consists of the speech, presentations and music from vocalists and bands starting at 10:30 a.m. at the Varsity Theatre, 616 Second St. It is brought to the community by the city of Davis and the Davis Human Relations Commission.  The Rev. Tim Malone, the campus community outreach minister for UC Davis and director of the Broderick Christian Center in West Sacramento, was keynote speaker at the event.

Hans Eberbach is an award-winning vocalist and songwriter who was born on the west coast and raised in the northeast wilds of Maine, returning to the California sunshine after high school to launch his career in the mid '90s as the singer for Sacramento-based roots rock band Sweet Vine.

Joselyn Lua hosts Steven Baissa, Director of the UC Davis Cross Cultural Center.
