They talked about the differences between having an actor read the story verses the author reading their own work, their collaboration with other arts organizations, and working with Davis Senior High School with a writing contest.

They discussed the concept of Third Space for the arts, how it has served the community in the past and reforming that approach. They explored why Davis is in need of an arts focused space, how arts contribute an important cultural history, art as a purpose, the expense of creating, and they talked about the future for Third Space which is seeking a permanent home.

Kristin Trent hosts Eunah Preston who is a volunteer with Yolo County Animal Services. Eunah talked about how she got involved with volunteering, her experience giving dogs much needed time away from their enclosures, what the job entails and the different levels of volunteering with the animals. They talked about what the shelter's biggest needs are, adoption events and how to let the community know about the animals that need forever homes.

Retracing the 1897 Expedition of the Bicycle Corps - Buffalo Soldiers.

Erick Cedeño, aka the Bicycle Nomad, retraced the route and history of the All-Black, bicycle-mounted 25th Infantry in 2022.

After the Civil War, in an experiment by the U.S. Army to determine the effectiveness of moving troops by bicycle, the all-Black 25th Infantry Regiment Bicycle Corps was commissioned to embark on an expedition nearly 2,000 miles from Missoula, Montana, to St. Louis, Missouri. 

Erick spoke at the UC Bicycling Hall of Fame on Thursday, May 18th, 2023.
