KINO shows you the latest in German film and reports on all the major international productions being shot in Germany. We take you behind the scenes, show you who is getting the red carpet treatment and who is winning the awards. Every month KINO gets you to meet the directors, actors, scriptwriters and producers.

Our guests also include film critics and international stars when they are working in Germany.

KINO keeps you informed about new developments in European film and discusses where this industry is heading in the future. We regularly visit major European film festivals and report from the festivals of German film abroad. KINO is hosted by Ute Soldierer, both in English and German. A trained actress, Soldierer herself has first-hand experience with theatre, film and television.

KINO, the only magazine programme devoted exclusively to German cinema, is shot on location in the heart of Germany?s cinematic scene: the Sony Centre on Potsdamer Platz, which is home to the headquarters of the Berlin International Film Festival, the German Film School (DFFB), the Film Museum as well as more than two dozen movie houses.
