On January 3, 2023, Davis City Council called an all-mail ballot special municipal election to fill the vacancy in City Council District 3 that was created when former Mayor Lucas Frerichs was sworn into office as a Yolo County Supervisor.

The League of Women Voters Davis Area hosts the candidate forum for the Davis City Council elections for District 3 (Central Davis).
