When you learn, Teach; When you get, Give
—Maya Angelou
These words have been ringing in my head since the recent Big Day of Giving on May 6. Our region donated more than 3 million dollars to support the work of local non-profits on that day, a tremendous success for all involved, and a statement about the importance of non-profits to our collective well-being. DMA received $2,300 in donations and won the $1,500 Landing Prize for last donation of the night, thanks to KDRT Steering Committee member & social media maven, Jessica Kelly. This money will help KDRT stay on the air and provide important local public affairs and support for local music. THANK YOU!
We are well on our way—more than halfway there—but we’re far from done!
Over the past 25 years, DMA has evolved to become a true community anchor institution, providing support for individual learners, non-profit organizations, and community partners. DMA's overall bottom-line fund raising needs are $20k, and this is the month we reach out to those who have been touched by DMA’s work in this community. to support important programs throughout the media center.
We need your help to maintain capacity, and to grow to meet community need. If you believe that DMA’s programs and services are critical components of 21st century community development, please give as generously as you can. We must raise $20,000 by June 1, 2014—and with your help, we can do it!
For DMA's 25th anniversary, my fondest wish is that we break past records and raise $25k in honor of 25 years. I believe we can do this, but I need your help to pull it off. Please help us keep the doors to local media wide open. Thank you for your support!
With a grateful heart,
Autumn
