“What to Expect on Climate in 2025”
November 17, 2024 - 3-5 pm
Unitarian Universalist Church of Davis
A discussion regarding climate change with Kim Stanley Robinson.
In The Ministry for the Future, Robinson envisioned how to understand and transform our dangerous trajectory, incorporating many solutions as he wove his story. Now again in a time of uncertainty we have asked Stan to return to those themes from the book and look ahead with us. But Ministry for the Future was only fiction. Did we really change our path? How are we really doing now, and what we can expect in 2025, five years after the publication of his novel and in light of the recent election.
The main participants were:
Kim Stanley Robinson, noted science fiction writer (climate fiction)
Robin Datel, retired professor of Geography at CSUS, Member
County Climate Action Commission and UC Davis Member.
Torin Dunnavant, Executive Director Tree Davis,
