One of DMA’s projects is to manage the day-to-day operations for the Davis Joint Unified School District’s educational access channel. Programming airs on Comcast Channel 17 in Davis, and on Menu 99 on AT&T’s U-verse service. With the exception of school board meetings, the District does not currently have a policy that allows us to replay locally produced programs online. Under the direction of Production Manager Jeff Shaw, DMA manages a popular internship program where local high-school students receiving training in a range of media skills. They gain hands-on experience recording more than 60 local productions each year, including music and sports events at local secondary schools. The City of Davis’s Media Services records DJUSD’s weekly school board meetings. DMA archives the programs and manages the weekly replays on Channel 17. The meetings air live on Thursdays at 7 p.m. and are replayed Fridays at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Sundays at 1 p.m. For more information, please visit djusd.tv.
