The 21st Annual City of Davis Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration

The celebration consists of the speech, presentations and music from vocalists and bands starting at 10:30 a.m. at the Varsity Theatre, 616 Second St. It is brought to the community by the city of Davis and the Davis Human Relations Commission.  The Rev. Tim Malone, the campus community outreach minister for UC Davis and director of the Broderick Christian Center in West Sacramento, was keynote speaker at the event.

Breaking the Silence of Racism

On Saturday December 1, the City of Davis Human Relations Commission will sponsor an event entitled, “Breaking the Silence of Racism,”  which will take place from 1pm to 3pm in Community Chambers, 23 Russell Blvd.

Community members are invited to share their recent experiences and thoughts regarding racist incidents in the Davis community and ask questions of a panel comprised of local leaders and officials.

The City of Davis hosted two community-based planning meetings to discuss planning for the Davis Nishi Gateway.

The workshops featured presentations and opportunities to share ideas about the planning of the Davis Nishi Gateway.

Each workshop will provide an overview of the planning effort, schedule and goals.
