Here’s a shout-out to Lin Weaver, who has been serving as our Studio Host Intern the past few months. Lin says she always wanted to be a media journalist and a producer so she could tell other people's stories. She worked with the show "Insight" at Capital Public Radio for four and a half years as an assistant producer, audio engineer and web content writer.
Lin was born in Europe into a bilingual Italian and French family. As a child she lived in Germany, Poland, France, Italy and Switzerland. She holds degrees from the Universities of Geneva and Tufts in linguistics and literature.
Later on, Lin launched into a new career in the software industry. She held full-time positions as technical support and implementation consultant for software companies in the Boston area. Her specialty is speech and voice recognition technology.
Lin is a member of the Davis Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and a Red Cross volunteer. She is a member of the UC Davis College of Biological Sciences Dean's Leadership Council and a Trustee of the UC Davis Foundation. She lives in Davis, and has three children and two grandchildren.
