In the Studio Serves Up Episodes

Featured currently on “In the Studio” are the Davis Music Festival; Davis AYSO; Anarchy Roller Derby, and the Davis Vanguard.

“In the Studio” is produced at Davis Media Access (DMA), the non-profit community media center serving Yolo County. The program provides local newsmakers and community organizations with easy ways to promote their activities and events. DMA produces four segments of ITS each month, using the recording sessions as a hands-on learning lab for local residents interested in media production. “In the Studio” airs Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays at 7 p.m. on DCTV, Comcast Channel 15, and on demand at Menu 99 on AT&T's U-verse. Episode 325: Bill Buchanan hosts Danny Tomasello, organizer of the Davis Music Festival. Topics discussed include how this year's festival went, where the festival is headed, and music in Davis in general. Also highlighted is the upcoming Festival on the Green (October 12th).  

Episode 324:  Ron Clement hosts Jen Boschee-Danzer, Regional Commissioner;  Richard Temple, Program Coordinator, and Scott Brayton, Coach of the Davis American Youth Soccer Organization in Davis. They share information about this volunteer driven organization, its VIP program for special needs people, and the new competitive program beginning this fall. 

Episode 323: Lin Weaver hosts Ms. L Fire, aka Lori Cleland; Jerry Seltzer, son of Lou Seltzer,  the founder of the first Roller Derby; and Ruby the Wrecker, aka Jen Robinson, Secretary and Blocker, all of the Anarchy Roller Derby of Woodland. Discussion centers on team philosophy, sportsmanship and games, as well as the history of the sport and how it is played.

Episode 322: Lin Weaver hosts David Greenwald, of the People's Vanguard of Davis. Greenwald discusses the founding of the Vanguard seven years ago, how news of the "little-known other Davis of the less affluent and less educated" is propagated, and his vision for the Vanguard.
