For the Trees: The County removed 31 black walnut trees along Russell Blvd. just west of the Davis City line because they had died from Thousand Cankers disease.  All who have appreciated the canopy of the 120-year-old trees are invited to support replanting. Donations may be made to Tree Davis at P.O. Box 72053, Davis, CA 95617.  Indicate “Russell trees” in the memo line.  Or go to the website to donate or to volunteer to help with replanting: www.treedavis.org/.

“Davis Parents Do” – Pledge Online this year: Davis Parents Do asks parents to take a pledge to not distribute alcohol or drugs to minors, and to discuss prevention measures and peer pressure with their kids. In an effort to reduce waste, parents are asked to pledge online directly at www.davisparentsdo.org and to like the group’s page on Facebook.

Producers’ Collaborative: Lin Weaver posts:  I would like to create or join a workgroup or collaborative of other Producers/Radio/TV journalists in the Sacramento area to share expertise, ideas and projects, or maybe just networking. I'm currently working on a (promising) radio documentary, and I'm also a Host/Producer for the show "In the Studio" at Davis Media Access in Davis CA.  I have worked for the last four plus years at Capital Public Radio in Sacramento as an assistant producer, audio operator, researcher podcaster and web contents manager for the live daily news show "Insight” If anyone is interested, you can contact me at softvoices10@gmail.com.
