Lin Weaver has been doing a bang-up job as Studio Host intern, and plans to continue as a producer and host of "In the Studio." We are ready to recruit additional help in the form of our next Studio Host Intern, for a position spanning at least Jan.-March 2014.
Through this three-month, non-paid internship, interns gain hands-on experience and exposure to many aspects of community television production. The Intern will interview guests who have been booked for “In the Studio,” a locally produced television program that provides local newsmakers and community organizations with easy ways to promote their activities and events. DMA produces four 28-minute segments of ITS each month, using the recording sessions as a hands-on learning lab for local residents interested in media production. ITS airs Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays at 7 p.m. on DCTV, Comcast Channel 15, and on demand at Menu 99 on AT&T's U-verse. Episodes are also archived at dctv.davismedia.org.
DMA produces the program in its recently renovated and state-of-the-art HD television studio. The intern gains the experience of working in this studio environment; receives coaching in hosting and on-air presence; and leaves with a professional reel.
