DMA board updates

DMA is bidding fond farewell to two of our board members. We thank Glenda Drew, who wrapped a two-year term in January, for her passionate advocacy for community media, and for generously sharing her skills in all things graphic design.

We thank Ron Clement, who is wrapping his second two-year term this month. Ron has served as both our chair and our treasurer during his time on the board, and has done much to help ensure that DMA’s financial house is in order. He’s also hosted numerous episodes of “In the Studio,” and famously co-hosted the first two years of DMA’s Annual Thank-a-Thon, along with Paul Sheeran.

A few months ago we welcomed Heather Caswell to the board. Heather is the longtime owner of The Wardrobe in downtown Davis. In addition to her expertise in the fashion world, Heather has long been involved with the Downtown Davis Visioning Committee and other community organizing efforts. In addition, she’s well versed as both a videographer and a DJ. Heather has stepped up to chair our fund raising committee this year.

Most recently, we welcomed back a familiar face. Andrea Jones provided long service to our board and then took a few years off. Few people understand the political landscape and know as many people in Yolo County as does Andrea, and we are delighted to have her back on board. Andrea is a principal with Foley Jones & Associates, a professional consulting firm specializing in grant writing, fund development, program design, and professional development.

We’ll be replacing our outgoing members and building the board this spring. Board Chair Kate Snow or I would be happy to discuss interest and you can contact us via info@davismedia.org. --Autumn
