Through the consensus process, our community decided to invest in the installation of 26 charging stations, one for each household, in our shared parking lot. We made this forward-thinking commitment, despite most of the members of our community not yet having EVs. (There were only 3 EVs in the community at the time.) My family hadn't expected to purchase a new car anytime soon, but within 2 weeks of the charging stations being installed, our existing minivan was totaled and we needed a replacement. We were excited to learn that Chrysler produces a hybrid version of their minivan which gets 25-30 miles of pure EV miles per charge!
