FAQ: How to find archived video/audio content for DCTV & KDRT

We get many questions about how to find a particular show to listen to, or watch.

An increasing number of local video productions are available on demand at dctv.davismedia.org. Videos are tagged and searchable (for example, search on 'homelessness' to see local shows done on that topic). A schedule for shows currently airing is available on the front page of this site, as well. This is DMA's main site for hosting and archiving locally produced video content.

PEG Access Media left out of FCC discussions

The FCC is now holding hearings re: "Workshop on Public and Other Noncommercial Media in the Digital Era." Public access media is not included in this discussion! This is a great time to get these words: PEG -- Public Access TV -- Community TV -- Community Radio -- Community Media in front of the panelists and the FCC.... Be sure to mention the Alliance for Community Media and the work the ACM has done for decades to help create local media and educate people on how to do this. Mention DMA as a great example of community media in action!

DCTV Programming Now Online

This column published May 2, 2010 in The Davis Enterprise, http://davisenterprise.net. Hometown media are rare, and Davis has many. I think that says a lot about our community. I've written about community media and media policy for The Enterprise since Feb. 1996 and thank them for an enduring partnership and years of coverage.

Meet the Applicants for Davis City Council 2011

As part of the process to fill the vacancy on the Davis City Council, Davis Media Access recorded brief statements by each of the applicants seeking appointment. Please see the Episodes tab for the videos. The segments will also air as "Meet the Applicants" on DCTV Channel 15 on the Comcast system, be available at pull-down menu 99 on AT&T's Uverse system, and air on KDRT-LP 95.7 FM in Davis.

General Orientation

Curious about KDRT, DCTV or even DJUSD Channel 17, and want to learn how Davis Media Access can help you?

Plan to attend one of our General Orientations!

Any potential volunteers please come to one of these, held monthly.  They last about an hour and include the history of Davis Media Access, a tour of the facilities, and information on how to get involved.
